For journalists and partners
How to use the identity correctly
The identity is a single approved system: one lockup, one ampersand, and one set of usage rules. These guidelines help journalists, editors, broadcasters, and partners represent the publication accurately and consistently without risking trademark misuse or visual distortion.
All files on this page are provided for press and editorial use. Separate licensing terms apply to commercial, merchandise, and co-branding use.
The official lockup
FILM and STAGE always capitalised. The red ampersand is always protected.
Logo usage
Do this, not that
Clear space
Maintain clear space around the logo equal to at least the height of the ampersand.
Crowd the logo with other typography, imagery, UI elements or borders.
Proportions
Use the logo only at the original width-to-height ratio. Scale uniformly.
Stretch, compress, rotate, skew, warp or crop the logo.
Colour
Use the full-colour version on light backgrounds; white or dark variants where contrast requires.
Recolour the logo, change the ampersand to a different hue, or apply effects.
Typography
Use the supplied artwork. The wordmark is Film & Stage, fully capitalised.
Reset the wordmark in another font, lowercase it, or spell it ‘Film and Stage’.
Backgrounds
Place the logo on a plain, contrasting background that preserves legibility.
Place the logo over busy photography, patterns, or gradients.
The ampersand
Preserve the red, custom ampersand exactly as it appears in the approved files.
Substitute it with a typed ampersand, a different symbol, or redraw it.
