An international publication of record for the performing arts

About the Publication

An international publication of record for the performing arts

covers the performing arts as one borderless culture — reported by named writers, held to clear standards, and built to be cited for decades.

Our Purpose

Film & Stage Magazine exists to cover the performing arts as a single, borderless culture — film, television, streaming, theatre, concerts, opera, ballet, animation and the festivals that bind them — with the rigour, independence and global perspective the art form deserves.

What we cover

One culture, told across every discipline

We report film, television, streaming, theatre, concerts, opera, ballet, animation and the festivals that bind them — not as separate beats, but as a single living art form. A première in Seoul, a revival in the West End and a festival premiere on the Croisette belong in the same conversation, and we cover them that way.

Editorial standards

Journalism you can trust — and cite

Accuracy first

Reporting is checked before it is published. Where the facts are still moving, we say so plainly rather than reaching for a headline we cannot yet stand behind.

Fact-checking

Names, dates, credits, quotations and claims are verified against primary sources. Reviews and features carry the credentials of the critics who write them.

Independence

Editorial judgement is never for sale. Advertising, sponsorship and commercial partnerships are handled entirely apart from newsroom decisions.

Correcting the record

When we get something wrong, we correct it openly and promptly. Corrections are a mark of a serious publication, not an embarrassment to be hidden.

Our principles are set out in full across our ethics policy and corrections pages, and the people responsible for them are named on our masthead.

Global cultural landmarks at dusk

International coverage

Global by default — every creative capital treated as an equal

The most important story is rarely told in only one place. We report from and about the world's creative capitals without treating any single city as the centre of the map.

Editorial philosophy

Global by defaultWe treat London, Lagos, Mumbai, Tokyo and São Paulo as equal creative capitals. The most important story is rarely told in only one place.
Criticism with convictionOur reviews and reporting are written by named critics and correspondents who stand behind their judgements and disclose their credentials.
Accuracy before speedEvery report is fact-checked. We correct openly and promptly, and we hold commercial relationships entirely separate from editorial decisions.
Built to lastWe are a permanent publication of record — in print and digital — not a feed. Our archive is meant to be cited for decades.

Ownership

Part of Film & Stage Media Group

is the flagship editorial publication of Film & Stage Media Group, an independent media company. The group operates FilmAndStage.com as its broader entertainment platform, while the magazine functions as the group's editorial authority in print and digital. Commercial operations sit apart from the newsroom by design, so ownership never shapes what we report.
