Welcome to Film & Stage Magazine. I founded this publication out of a simple conviction: that the performing arts deserve journalism as serious, as curious, and as international as the work itself. Across screens and stages, a remarkable amount of the world's most ambitious storytelling is being made right now — and it deserves coverage that takes it seriously without losing the joy of being a fan.
Film & Stage exists to cover the full breadth of that creative landscape. We write about film, television, and streaming; about theatre and live performance; about concerts, opera, and ballet; about animation; and about the festivals and the people who bring all of it to audiences. These worlds are too often reported in isolation. We believe they belong in the same publication, in conversation with one another, because that is how audiences actually experience culture.
From the outset, our commitments are plain. We are editorially independent, and we keep our commercial and editorial operations separate so that advertising and sponsorship never shape our reviews, ratings, or reporting. We aim for fairness and accuracy in everything we publish, and we correct ourselves openly when we get something wrong. We are committed to diversity — of subjects, of contributors, and of perspectives — and to genuinely global coverage rather than the narrow lens of a single market.
Film & Stage Magazine is published by Film & Stage Media Group and headquartered in Palm Beach, Florida. We are an independent media organization at the start of our journey, and we say that plainly: our ambition is to earn, over time, a place among the respected international publications covering the creative industries. That standing is something a publication builds through consistent, credible work — and that is the work we intend to do.
A publication is only as strong as the community around it. So this is also an invitation. To writers, critics, and correspondents who want to contribute: we want to hear from you. To festivals, publicists, studios, and artists: we want to cover your work thoughtfully and fairly. To advertisers who value an independent editorial environment: there is a place for you here. And to readers, wherever you are in the world: thank you for being here at the beginning. The curtain is up.
